Meet Lauren Ziyaaein, a Registered Psychological Associate, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and doctoral student pursuing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School. Lauren works under the direct supervision of seasoned professionals, Azeen Nafisi, Psy.D. Licensed Clinical Psychologist #PSY34508 and Neda Safvati, Psy.D. #PSY25346.
Lauren began her clinical work in an Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program (IOP/PHP) for adolescents, supporting teens and their families through in-person and Telehealth sessions. She has experience with diverse clients facing anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, neurodivergence, and life transitions. She has also facilitated group therapy focused on coping skills and peer connection.
Using a multidisciplinary, person-centered approach, Lauren integrates evidence-based strategies with mindfulness and body-based practices to support nervous system regulation and emotional resilience. She creates a safe, affirming space for clients to explore identity and build effective coping tools.
As a second-generation Persian Moroccan American, Lauren is committed to reducing mental health stigma and expanding access to care. She is passionate about helping clients embrace their identities and improve quality of life. Her doctoral dissertation explores how Jewish identity, gender identity, and birth order influence individual identity and life satisfaction.
